Reader's workshop Projects
Informational Research project
During the fall and early winter, students engage in a nonfiction research project on a topic of their choice. They take organized notes on their topics in their home journals, which travel back and forth between school and home. In January, they will write about their topics in Writer's Workshop.
Students should take notes guided by the text structure of the books and articles they read, or videos they watch. The most common structure is descriptive, and most notes will be organized with boxes for the main idea, and bullets for the details.

Students' initial research notes are due December 18.
